I’m Steven and I will be running the Virgin London Marathon on 17th April 2011 in support of British Heart Foundation. It’s a scary thought but I’m determined to see it through and raise lots of money. This blog is a record of the lead up to the day. Details of my training etc and the highs and lows along the way. For friends to read but mainly for me to remind myself why I’m doing it..

It's underway....!

Bless me people for I have sinned - it's been over 3 months since my last post!  I thought I'd better start updating this thing now that I have started raising money.

I let people know about the Virgin Giving site and my entering the marathon only 2 days ago and already have raised £376.00 for BHF.  Thanks to all you generous people!   I've emailed friends, family, work contacts and put the link on Facebook so it's obviously doing some good.  I have lots more promises of sponsorship so I am confident that I will reach (or hopefully exceed) my target of £2000.00.

Training has been progressing well.  I have had a bit of a hamstring injury which has been plaguing me for the past few months when running.  Not the ideal situation for someone running the marathon, but Commando Rob has been doing some remedial work with me and it is getting a lot better.  I am doing my 6.00am sessions on Blackheath and putting in a few hours a week at the gym so it's all going well.  I should hopefully only need one more remedial treatment and then I will be up and running in earnest.  I'm looking forward to putting on some tunes and getting out there pounding the streets.  It might help with a bit of weightloss too!

I will try to keep this updated with any highs and lows and thank you's as I go on my quest.

Wish me luck!!

Steven xx
